A twist board is a round platform on which you stand and perform exercises while twisting from side to side. This twist board works core muscles involved in maintaining balance. Start a swivel board workout slowly, and build up workout intensity as you grow accustomed to the equipment. When you stand on a swivel board you engage muscles throughout your core to help you maintain your balance. Your core muscles remain engaged no matter what exercise you are doing on a swivel board. Twisting too far places tension on the lower back and could result in injury, especially if you’ve had back problems in the past. Don’t twist too far, and do the same number of repetitions on each side. Before you attempt a new exercise on the swivel board, practice until you are proficient standing on a stable surface. Do a swivel board exercise routine for 20 to 30 minutes at least three times per week to see results.
